Division Definitions (revised 3/29/2009):
- OF Americanware (51+ runs): This division includes all American pottery manufactured in the Americas (e.g. Canada, United States, Mexico, and all other Central and South American countries). Hagen Renaker, Loza, and Pour Horse are some examples of the potteries from this region.
- OF Europeanware (51+ runs): This division includes all pottery manufactured in Europe. Animal Artistry, Marcherware, Royal Daulton, and Beswick are examples of these.
- OF Resin/Cold Cast Porcelain: This division includes all OF resins and cold cast porcelain sculptures regardless of run edition. Breyer, Northlight, and Royal Worcester are examples of these.
- Other Countryware (51+ runs) & Small Production/Test: The Other Countryware division includes all pieces that were manufactured in countries outside of Europe including Asia, Australia and Africa. Small Production & Test are for editions that were a total run of 50 copies or less and for true test colors of Original Finish pieces.
- Custom Glazed: All custom glaze-fired horses, regardless of where they were manufactured (EXCEPT LAKESHORE), show here. This includes all test runs that an artist has deemed a custom glaze color. Absolutely no cold painted chinas!
- Lakeshore Division: All Lakeshore models, both OF and CM glazed, show here – no cross entry with the Other Country Ware division.
- All divisions except CM Glaze, Lakeshore, OF Resin & Cold Cast Porcelain: Your horse belongs in the division where your horse was manufactured. If your horse was manufactured in one country, painted there, but was detailed elsewhere, it still belongs in the country where it was manufactured. For example, if your horse was cast, fired and initially glazed in China, but then the detail work on the face and hooves were done in the US, it would show in the Other Country division.
- Artist Challenge classes are non-NAN qualifying classes sponsored by the fantastic artists in our community.
Artist Challenge Classes Rules
- Minkiewicz Studio Challenge: The Minkiewicz Studio Challenge is for all horses sculpted by Sarah and were either glazed by her or another artist.
- Westerly Design Challege: Open to all china horses custom glazed by Karen Gerhardt/Westerly Design, either her own sculptures or sculptures by another artist. The class is to be judged on the workmanship of the glazing/finishing. It is open to anything Karen glazed. You cannot enter any of the bone chinas glazed by Alchemy, or any of Karen's china work released as OF. These would go under their appropriate OF divisions.
- Lucas Francis Studio Challenges: The CM Glaze LFS Challenge is open to all horses sculpted and glazed by Kristina. The KLF OF Challenge is for all Kristina OF run pieces starting with Voltage to the present.
- Para Ceramics Challenge: The Para CM Glaze Challenge is open to all pieces glazed by Marge Para.
- Springtime Designs Challenge: The Springtime Designs Challenge is open to all CM Glazes and Lakeshore OFs & tests by Marilyn Jensen.
- All Other Artist Sponsored Challenge Classes: These classes are open only to horses sculpted and glazed by the artist themselves.
